I decided to take a leaf out of my good friend’s book.
She’s a hippie.
I always loved the free spirited kind of people who you can feel their positive energy and aura surrounding them as soon as they walk in the room. I always wanted to be someone of the sorts, just without the “hippie” lifestyle.
I do love the hippie lifestyle, it just isn’t for me… that’s not to say it won’t be for you though!
So with all this positive energy around me I decided that it was time for me to become carefree and live each day as it comes just like she does.
I sort of stopped caring what other people think of me – I’m still working on this one.
I stopped worrying about the small things like a pimple right in the middle of my forehead that everyone can see… it’s not anymore it’s natural.
I decided that I didn’t want to waste my time on people that hold me back from my fullest potential. It’s harsh but it’s for the better.
I started to meditate and let myself have time just for me.
I began to laugh more, smile more and eat better food.
I danced with my friend at a chilled bar in front of the band that was playing and everyone was watching us but I was happy and I felt free.
I started to light candles in my room so it would have a relaxed vibe.
I started to trust my intuition.
I did a massive declutter and donated heaps of clothes to the second hand shop and felt better about owning less clothes and shoes.
I started teaching myself to play guitar because if you keep putting things off as “not being the right time” it’ll never be the right time. So do what you want to do before it’s too late.
I stopped using my phone every minute of everyday. This is the worst habit that everyone has. Put your phone down, you’re missing out on so much beauty in the world by not looking at the space around you.
I filled my bedroom with more plants to keep my oxygen more fresh.
I love yoga now. I’m a hater of any form of exercise and yoga is the perfect way for me to get toned for summer… it’s also a great way for me to have that time for myself to love my body.
There’s so much more that has influenced my small change in lifestyle and personality, these are some I could think of in the moment of writing this.
I do feel more free. I have learnt to be myself and don’t follow the crowd to be like them. Because if you do you then one day everyone else will see you shining and want to be you.
I know I still have far to go in my journey, but my advice is to let go a little. Don’t take life so seriously, let yourself become one with nature and your surroundings.
Just become self aware because once you are aware of yourself you will begin to understand the world better and see it through a new set of eyes.
Lots of love,
